Back in ?Victorian times, an enterprising young man claimed to be able to predict the sex of a pregnant woman's unborn baby (back in the days when only women could get pregnant), by use of some quasi medical contraption that he had invented (basically just a small telescope, placed against the woman's stomach). So confident was he in the contraption, that he promised a full refund if the prediction was wrong. He always predicted female, was right 52% of the time, and the majority of the 48% that he got wrong didn't ask for a refund.
