What satnav software do you use to spot speed cameras?

Hi All,
I hope you are well.
I wonder what is the best software to use to spot speed cameras.

I use Waze for quite some time but I don't know if this app is up to speed with all the changing conditions on UK roads.

They also changed the way the pop ups appear on the screen including the speed camera warnings.
They changed something after an update and these pop ups now take the bottom 1/4 of the screen and I cannot even see the speedometer.
If it's an average speed check then these pop ups come up every so often which is pretty annoying.
Please advise.

Looking out of the window does it best for me. I don't actually watch for speed cameras. The road authorities have thoughtfully put up those big round signs with numbers in them. I find they help a lot!

Like New Judge I mainly rely on the view through the windscreen, but I use Waze for traffic info and warning of hazards and the like. At least in my local area I've found it is generally quite quick to incorporate any changes to Road layouts, speed limits etc.

A little while ago it also started flashing up warnings when approaching a large reduction in speed limit (e.g. NSL -> 30mph), which might help some people avoid abrupt braking.

My car oe inbuilt sat nav shows the speed limit and the vehicle speed at top left hand corner and beeps if the limit is exceeded.  In average speed camera sections it shows vehicle speed and average speed  between cameras.

I reckon your car is relatively new.
Do the build-in sat navs in new cars differ much between car makers or do they use a well known vendor e.g. Garmin?

It may have changed in recent years, but my experience of the car makers' built-in SatNavs has been that they are woefully inadequate compared to the likes of Google Maps. Why would one pay hundreds of pounds for something where there's a free and far better version? Best option is Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, where you get the advantage of a superior SatNav on the car's built-in screen. Some manufacturers have Google built-in. Others are dropping Android Auto/Apple CarPlay because, in their arrogance, they still think their bespoke systems are better.

My Vauxhall has a built in sat nav, that appears to run on proprietary software... For £90 a year you can add live traffic information. When you can connect android auto/car play for free, I've always wondered who actually pays for that.

Only one example, but I drove a 75 plate Peugeot 208 recently as a courtesy car and the built in sat nav on that was using TomTom software.

There are people that will happily pay for such services, although they would mostly not contemplate buying a Vauxhall.
