Is this the new format for the new Pepipoo 2.0?

It's the format used by the software that powers the forum.

Which bits of the formatting make it difficult for you to follow? If there are common issues shared by other users, the admins may be able to take some steps to address it (depending on the limitations of the software of course).

Overall it appears 'cheap' with the comment being replied to being virtually unreadable with the blue background for one.

Also how do I reply to a comment, there doesn't semm to be a reply button to press to just comment direct. I'm trying to reply to you direct dmwb2.

You can quote posts as I'm doing here (see the 'Quote' button top right of the post you want to quote). That serves essentially the same purpose, and works the same way as the quote function on PePiPoo.

It is cheap - it was made using free software as far as I know (quite understandably given it's been set up by volunteers). In my personal view as long as it serves its purpose in helping folks out with motoring issues what it looks like isn't that important. PePiPoo running on fairly ancient software isn't exactly a thing of beauty. Although you're right that the quotes aren't the most readable, a greater contrast between the text and background, and/or a larger font, might help here.

The major "readability" issue I have is that the the quoted text is far too small (to read at a comfortable distance using a TV as a monitor). Whilst this may be beneficial when neurodiverse posters bloat quote, it tends to defeat the intended purpose of quoting.

Otherwise, change always involves a learning curve. Such is life.

I think I'm getting the hang of it.

I whole-heartedly support an increase in the font size for quoted text.

Should be nothing harder than a simple css change in the theme. Unfortunately I don't know what features CAF provide in that regard (whether it's a fixed theme you cannot change, or whether you can customise it).

Edit: For the admins, there is a "Style Manager" in the Administration Centre. If you go in there, you can't edit the default style directly but you can create a new one.

For the quotes, if you do that, then find this section:

Code: [Select]
blockquote.bbc_alternate_quote,
blockquote.bbc_standard_quote {
padding: 15px 10px;
border-style: solid;
border-width: 0 0 3px;
border-color: #b5c4cc;
background-color: #e0eef6;
color: #768094;
}

The "color" value is the text colour, in hex, but you can also use css colour names too, https://www.quackit.com/css/css_color_codes.cfm

If you add a "font-size" item, you can also change the font size.

Code: [Select]
    color: black;
    font-size: small;

Then just need to "Pick" the style back on the style manager page. If you make a mistake just delete the new style and it should revert to the default.

Everyone happy now?
I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

First post here, the site seems very well put together and a vast improvement on Pepipoo.

One gripe - the posts all seem to merge into one; they need to be separated with a black line.

If sparx tells me how to fix it, I will.
