Wrong SP code
« on: »
I recently received a fine for doing 59mph in the motorway entering the first roadworks camera sp was 50mph zone. I was surprised to not be offered a course so duly paid my fine and three points have been put on my license,  however I've checked my license and they have added a SP30 code who h This charge wasn't as on motorway. Can I do anything now as I think I should of been offered the course,  I do understand the police do not have to offer this but surely if was a sp50 which should of been I would of been able to do the course and avoid the points
. I have already done a sp30 course a year ago. I hope this makes sense

You can ask the DVLA to correct the endorsement code if you want but the matter is closed as far as the police are concerned. They’re not going to rescind the fixed penalty and put you on a course.

The NDORS motorway awareness course is for offences committed on variable speed limit motorways. Sounds like that would not be appropriate in your case. As well as that, some forces do not allow a course of each type to be taken within three years.

Anyway, none of that really matters. The offer of a course is entirely at the discretion of the police. There is no right to one, no rules (just guidance) and no right of appeal if you re not offered one.

I should think here is no chance that the police will revisit this.

Presumably English is not your first language? What you have posted does not make any sense.
Perhaps if you wrote it in your own language and used google translate to translate it into English it might make more sense.

SP30 is the code for exceeding the statutory speed on the public road. It is not related to the speed you were or should have been travelling at or what road it was. Here are all the codes:

https://www.gov.uk/penalty-points-endorsements/endorsement-codes-and-penalty-points

You won't be offered another course for three years after the date of the offence for which it was offered, so any speeding infringements until that runs out will attract points and a fine.

SP50 is the code normally used for exceeding the speed limit on a motorway.

I presumed that as he was in roadworks with a 50mph limit the normal motorway regulations were suspended. It makes no difference - he still wouldn't have been offered a course.
