NIP recevied at company office after address changed.
« on: September 26, 2024, 02:45:25 pm »
I am an owner of a small company. Just in the process of moving office and updated compay address on DVLA this morning. Went to office ths afternoon to hand over keys and found letter to company of NIP for speeding 27 in a 20 which must have been delivered about 11.30am

Company name was spelt correctly but had 2 strange dots (..) before the name.

I personally have 6 points already on licence (all for 24-26 mph) and last did speed awarenees course 23 months ago.

and advice appreciated,

Your personal circumstances only matter if you were the driver.

The company has an obligation to name the driver. If it does not, it is likely to be prosecuted for not doing so. Of course, a company cannot be given points, only a fine.

The OP appears to be asking whether the NIP being delivered to an address that was updated with the DVLA after it was posted, and possibly even before it was delivered, and was received anyway somehow invalidates it or negates lawful service.

The answer is no.

If anyone (other than the OP) wants to explore or question the reasoning behind that statement, or otherwise externalise their own lack of knowledge or logical reasoning, they are free to start a thread in the Flame Pit to do so.
