NIP received speeding automatic speed zone 47 in a 40
« on: »
Hi,

I received the NIP on 22/5 and offence occured 18/5 @ 15:47.

Looking at the photographs online, the time on the picture is 14:47 not 15:47. Is it possible to use this in any way?

Happened on A217 Brighton Road N, Banstead

i cant upload the pics of the car from the surreypas website atm as seems site is down. error 403

the certificate for the camera ends in july 2024.

It was an automatic speed camera not a standard.

If it occurred at 15:47, no, camera is probably set to GMT.

Based on what?
I am responsible for the accuracy of the information I post, not your ability to comprehend it.

Yes, no, maybe?
You will need to look for either a defect in the speed reading or a defect in the way the limit is set and communicated.

So you could get a copy the the relevant Traffic Regulation Order that set the limit and see if it’s correct, you could check the signage and see if it adequately conveys the limit, you could look at the photo you have and see if it looks like there may be an error in the speed reading.

In the first instance, from the relevant Highways Authority, which in this case would be Surrey County Council. You'll probably need to ask for it, rather than being able to find it on their web site.
