Checkig the speed limit is right and how to see pics?
« on: »
Hi I got seen doing 35mph in a 30 mph zone by a maned camera, firstly is it possible to check the road and limit is correct? I only received the second letter yesterday and the letter is dated 23/4/25. I also cant see anywhere where I'm able to view the pictures online is this normal.

This was the first letter....

The chances of a manned camera being set up incorrectly are most unlikely.

OP, there is also a system of street-lighting, which indicates a 30 mph limit.

As for photos, the police do not have to disclose evidence unless you opt for court. A request for photos "to help identify the driver" usually succeeds, but it is too late for that as you have already nominated yourself.

OK thanks for your responses, it was postitioned round a bend at the bottom of a hill, I dont usually use that road so as in most cases this is when they get you. Yes I wasnt going the speed limit but was hardly hamering it, so I take it I just have to accept it, I spoke to someone recently who went to court and won they were doing 24 in a 20 mph zone and he argued in Devon and under that police force, drivers should be given 10% plus 2 threshhold?

Thanks again

Under police guidelines enforcement normally begins at (Limit+10% + 2mph).

I don't know what happened in Devon but pleading not guilty on the basis that you should be allowed a certain leeway will not succeed.

Which pub were you drinking in?
I am not qualified to give legal advice in the UK. While I will do my best to help you, you should not rely on my advice as if it was given by a lawyer qualified in the UK.
