That’s a shame. It’s difficult to know what else to do in the circumstances but at least we will have it on record that we did everything we could possibly do. I am hoping reason will prevail.

Reason will never come into a Balliff's process - they have a job to do and get paid when they get the funds.

Best to make sure anything of value is not available to them for the time being.

I am hoping reason will prevail.
On that basis the bailiff has a live court order and an order from the court to execute it, reason says they will try to do so.
There are motorists who have been scammed and those who are yet to be scammed!

Hasn't this website previously suggested that posters with bailiff problems contact https://bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/ ?

Is that no longer a suggestion?

I haven't heard any better suggestions on this thread.
I am responsible for the accuracy of the information I post, not your ability to comprehend it.

@AnneH  -  all i know is that on the site called "pepipoo" (which I suppose was a predecessor of this website) people having problems with bailiffs and needing help were often referred to the site I linked to in my previous post.

I believe the "Civil parking penalties" board of this website have also referred posters to bailiffadviceonline.

However, the fact that nobody here - apart from me - has suggested you use them makes me wonder if that is a referral that this site would still make.  I simply don't know...

There has been no conscious decision of “this site” to refer or not refer people. It’s up to individual members. I’m not sure why you’re making a big deal of it.

I did think of it, but not sure they are going to be much help here - the baliff will be executing a valid warrant and the only way of fixing that as discussed here is via the Court.

Good news!!! We received an email reply today from the bailiffs with the following…

Please be aware that this matter has been returned to the Client and therefore, our action has ceased.

We trust this will assist you.

… reason prevailed after all.
We are now waiting to hear from the magistrates court concerning the section 142 request.
Will keep you posted.
Thanks so much for all the help this far.
