PCN - Euro Parking Services - Birmingham
« on: »
Hi guys

I received a PCN last week after being away on holiday. The notice is in relation to parking on 30th May 2024. I have basically a day to appeal as I have been away so a lot of the time has been wasted with the letter sitting by my front door. See attached images.

The time of parking was at night, 9.52pm till 10.04pm. There does not seem to be any signage according to google street view and I was wondering what is the best way to appeal the PCN. Sorry first time user on here and I am up against in terms of time. Please do let me know if you need any other information from me.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried contacting the landlord of the establishment they are saying the driver was not a patron of and asking them to get the PCN cancelled?

The alleged breach of contract is that the vehicle was parked at a location that was for patrons only. Can you expand on that?

Was the driver a patron of something at the location? Was a passenger? Does it have to be the driver that is a patron of whatever is at this location?

I wouldn’t worry about appealing as it will be rejected no matter what you put. You are in a process that is designed to force you into paying, no matter what. What you have to realise is that you either fight it or pay it.

I have not tried contacting them. There’s 2 businesses there I believe. Both were closed at the time so no patronage took place! Would you just pay it then?

I don't think b789 is saying that. In general, the role of this forum is to provide you with advice on your options. Which decision you take is your choice, as it's your money on the line.

Parking companies reject the vast majority of appeals they receive - they don't make any money from cancelling parking charges after all. With this being an IPC member, there's also little chance of the IAS upholding your appeal, so if you are intending to fight this, you will need to be prepared for the possibility of defending a court claim.

If you're fighting this, we could do with seeing photos of the signage at the site. The Google Street View you provided shows no relevant signage, but those images are from 2022, so up-to-date evidence would be required.
