Good morning,

I was collected from Argyll Way at Aberdeen Airport in November 2025. I was not the driver but I am the registered keeper of the car identified. I later received a PCN from Vehicle Control Services Ltd. Following a brief Google search, I ignored the PCN and discarded the document but I remember it including photos of me putting my luggage into the car. I note that the car was stopped for a minute or two before we left the site, we did not pass through any barriers (the site/road provides access to local hotels), there is signage but the notices are small and it was dark when I was collected so I did not see them clearly.

I have now received a letter from Pollock Fairbridge Solicitors and would appreciate advice on how to proceed. Thank you in advance for your time and support.

I have seen that thread but didn’t want to assume my situation was identical. For that thread, the OP didn’t respond to the first letter from PFS and further court documents were issued.

Is the letter they have sent me a Letter of Intimation (Letter Before Claim or Letter of Claim)?

If it isn’t, can I respond using the second email template that was provided in reply #4?

I would get your (very sound) defence that you were not the driver in front of them from the outset - to that end I'd be minded to respond with wording along the lines of that in reply 4 on the other thread, amending details as needed to suit your case, of course.
