Merry Christmas from DCB Legal....... ;D

Nope, it`s not a Christmas card I`m referring to...  but another claim form, from Northampton, which arrived today.

DCB Legal have bulk added this new court claim for myself, to Northampton`s already bulging list of court claims.

I shall either, post it in this thread, if that is best, or start a new thread, as this new claim has been initiated by the usual "non-compliance", from a different parking company.

The claim, which this thread was started with, was by "I Park Services Ltd", and this new claim has been initiated by " Euro Car Park Services Ltd".

We operate some "house rules" on the site.

1. We operate a "one case, one thread" rule. This means that you should keep any posts relating to one case (one incident of speeding, one PCN, etc) to a single thread. Do not start multiple topics on the same case.

Yes, a separate thread for each case if it is a different location/firm. However, I can assure you that the outcome is going to be identical... a strike out or discontinuation.

On a different subject, and rather than starting a new post/thread.

I have 1 old (4 and a half years) CCJ,-obtained by Excel Parking Services, whereby now, BW Legal, have took it upon themselves, to write to me, asking for a "proposed settlement figure"- with a 45% discount off the CCJ.

Do these companies ever just consider, which I`m sure they do, the cost of enforcement (£91 for a Warrant of Control), versus the actual "hope/chance" they have, of securing the actual amount of the original CCJ?

Sending letters is cheap.

As for onward enforcement, the short answer is I don't know - this is primarily a private parking tickets forum, rather than a debt advice forum, which means we don't see many cases where someone has an 'old' (aka beyond the possibility of set aside) CCJ.

How much is the debt? A larger debt might increase the motivation to seek enforcement.

It is £270.

Still within its 6 year capacity, until August 2027.

I guess, by offering a 45% discount, it`s unlikely they will consider enforcement.. which of course, comes at quite a cost (£91).

£91 is loose change to a company issuing as many charges as Excel, but I'd be somewhat surprised if they did.

A debt over £600 would be much more tempting, as that would be above the threshold at which they could seek to involve High Court Enforcement Officers, as opposed to County Court Bailiffs.
