Aldi cheam PCN

Hi
Just been visiting family in London. I live in Liverpool and just got home today 10/8/25 at about 1am to a lovely PCN.

Reading reviews on Google, it seems many others have faced the same as you apparently have to input your number plate in the system. There was no obvious sign for this. No staff member made mention of this.

I believe day 14 is today, the final day for the reduced fee, which is why I thought to post this despite being tired and it being 3am.

Surely I should win this easily in appeal as there's no obvious signage?

I don't have my receipt, but I have a screenshot from my amex app showing where and when I've paid.

You’ve said you don’t have a receipt but you can show proof of payment.

You mean except for the entrance sign which even on Google maps can clearly be read that customers  must register in store and undoubtedly multiple signs around d the carpark?

 b789s approach seemsa much better option,  no harm putting an appeal into Parkingeye as well, just don't reveal who was driving, say the driver did this and paid that.

Agreed, most parking companies deny appeals simply because many people then pay up. Even when the appeal is correct. @Swahmad is confusing them with decent, reasonable companies - they don’t care, they only want your money.

Plan A is always the easiest method to get a PCN like this cancelled. If that fails, you can easily fight this but it will be a prolonged process and will also depend on whether PE handle it in house or farm it out to the incompetents at DCB Legal.

Undoubtedly? So I must be blind then haha
Genuinely didn't see a single sign and I did have a glance around. I also have had a look at Google maps and can't see any clear signs.

I've dealt with PE before where I incorrectly received about 5 PCNs. All appeals were rejected but as soon as it went to POPLA they folded before they could judge

So both you and the driver at the time are due a visit to Specsavers because the signs could be seen by a visually impaired rider facing backwards on a galloping horse and would be found by any assessor or judge to be visible and clear, certainly as far as GSV in April this year is concerned.

From GSV i can see at least 5 plus the entrance sign. Parkingeye will have a map of the signage and date stamped images of each sign. You can appeal on the grounds of no signage if you want but it won't go well, or you could follow b789s advice or heaven forbid appeal to Parkingeye on the grounds the driver was a legitimate customer. Parkingeye do actually grantsome reasonable appeals, see a recent Lidl thread as an example, almost identical situation as yours.

Signage in car park:




The signage is somewhat smaller than ParkingEye have previously used. You could always include an argument about insufficient (not absent) signage at POPLA, as part of a 'kitchen sink' type appeal, but POPLA can be hard to convince on signage points, and it is a rather small car park.
