A bit of a long story, my 08 Range rover had a lot of work done on it earlier this year, new brakes all round, suspension bushes replaced, a few other bits about £3k of work. A few weeks later it started going into low power mode but would reset after switch off and on again. I took it to my usual indy RR garage who road tested it and informed me the engine failedon a test reun, a problem with no4 injector. It took them 3 days to get the injector out and they found no.4 cylinder full of engine oil. It would cost far more to strip and rebuild the engine so I decided to get a replacement.
That was a 2010 Range Rover Sport from one of their customers bought directly from the customer. It seemed to go all right but it had numerous niggly problems, I simply didn't like the car. So looked on line and found an affordable 10 reg Vogue with a dealer in the High Wycombe area. Arranged to see the car, it had a new MoT and a couple of minor bits to do, but they told me the hand brake module didn't work and parts of the radio system was missing and they would supply and fit a replacement radio. So five weeks down the line they still haven't come up with the replacement radio parts which also combine the vehicle set-up modules, I can't even change the clock! I don't know what should be there as there's 2 empty spaces in the boot locker where it should be.
I fail to see how the car passed an MoT with the parking brake inoperative, a
**** mirror and a washer jet not working. They supplied a new mirror, but for the wrong side and I can live without the parking brake while I try to sort the problem. But what are my rights to get the radio problem sorted? My phone calls keep getting blocked or ignored. The dealer syas he gives all his sold cars a 3 month warranty but gives nothing in writing. What's the best way to proceed with this? The dealer is about 100 miles from where I live, it's a day's driving round the M25 to get there and back!
