After just missing an idiot pedestrian last night while doing a left turn from Brighton Road into Balaclava Road in Surbiton with the right of way belonging to me, I had to avoid this man who clearly disregarded the red light against him.
As it was warm and my window was down anyway, I simply said to him: "Have you made a will?"
Surely, this is not road rage? Sarcasm yes.
Another favourite of mine is, when parallel-parking the car and people stare at me, I say to them: "I always park better when stared at."
I would welcome members' frank admissions please of their own "episodes" if you have any.
Challenging anybody when driving is fraught with risk and not advisable so it's better to avoid doing so.
When turning into a side road one should give way to pedestrians already crossing even if against a red light as they could be intoxicated, drugged, ill or just absent minded. Errant pedestrians commit no offence but a motorist who hits one could be held to account .
Did I say I didn't stop? The guy was an idiot as he deliberately stepped onto the crossing as soon as the light turned red.
