Hi All,

Thank you all for the post, I have been directed here for some further help and am eternally grateful in advance.

My partner owned a flat from 2022-2024. Three days ago the current owners of the flat informed us of a county court judgement from ParkingEye Ltd has just arrived stating we must pay them £237. We have never had any notice or fine from the company, and no reference or ticket detail was initially provided

The car was never registered at this flat (as far as she remembers - as she lived across address with parents where she spent more time). The current V5c she has is a new one, from July 2023, registered to the parents.

I have managed to obtain the reference number for the ticket from the company, and the portal only displays the charge, with no evidence.

We have not ever had any contact from the company, to our knowledge, regarding the ticket. The only 'hole' i can see with this is if the car was registered to the flat for 1 year, and the ticket was within this period.

I have submitted subject access request via the data protection officer to obtain all information, correspondence, how they have obtained this address and where original correspondance was sent; And detail of when and where the ticket was issued. We have 30 days to pay the CCJ and it will not appear on the credit score, or we can appeal it requiring a hearing, judgement etc. The cost of this appears to be £313

I would like some advice on the best course of action in your experiences in situations like this. I can see two choices:
1) pay the CCJ for £237 and it is gone from the record and forget (although feel said about the unjustment of this!). I assume this parking company will not provide us with the details of the claim particularly quickly to know if the ticket is even us.
2) pay the £313 and start the appeals process... however I understand this could be a challenging and drawn out process. I think I would be up for the fight though not sure how possible it is without official legal support, but how realistic is it that I end up paying £313, a lot of hassle, and still have to pay the £100-200 escalated ticket fines.

Many thoughts going around my head! Kind regards, and many thanks in advance
