I am associated with a company that uses both CCTV and ANPR in their car park.
The ANPR cameras are mounted on one meter high posts at the entry /exits and take a snapshot of the registration plate to enable automatic calculation of parking time. They do not operate continuously but are activated by sensors on the approach of a vehicle.
The CCTV (used for other purposes) does however operate 24/7 but does NOT particularly cover the entry/exit area.
If the company does have CCTV you dont have any automatic right to access it. Company use of CCTV is highly regulated (I don’t know the inns and outs of it) but they will not release it to you without very good reason. Don’t forget the company has no idea to what use you might put any released CCTV.

Ive had a similar experience when registering a change of car (but not number plate) for the Dartford Crossing.
Registering always shows the old car but a phone call soon rectifies this.  I have been told each time that the make of car is of little importance, they are only really interested in the registration number.

Of course, this would be a different matter where emissions are involved (CAZ) but as long as you know your vehicle complies I doubt that there would be a problem.
I cannot imagine that the authorities cross-check every make and model.  More likely, the authority would use the database information it had available and, if the 'old' car complied, the reg number would continue to be accepted.

As long as you know the new car complies and the registration number has been transferred correctly then it is hardly your fault if their database has not been updated.

As an aside, my Volvo (old man's car) DOES control the speed when travelling downhill when set to Speed Limiter.

I basically held my hands up and didn't offer much in the way of mitigation on my statement either

Only a shot in the dark but could your 'mitigation' have been interpreted as equivocal ?

Try this and have another look, it should help.

How old are the tyres ?  Check the DOT numbers as I suggested above.

I can have no idea whether it is safe to use your tyres.

It would be helpful to know the date of manufacture as shown on the DOT number on the tyre wall. The final four numbers represent the week and year of manufacture.
You mention degradation due to age shown as ‘minor cracking’ and ‘age deterioration’.
If you have any doubts, get the tyre checked by professionals at a reputable tyre retailer.
I would suggest that it may be unwise to use an aging tyre showing cracking on the road.

Ah, the passage of time and changing attitudes !!
In my youth, our local coal merchant delivered coal from a wagon pulled by two horses and the local ice cream seller had a very smart little wagon pulled by a small horse.
Any 'deposits' did not stay on the road for long, they were quickly spirited away and used on people's gardens.

The Flame Pit / Re: "Park with Ease" at RHDR.

Let’s face it Roy, three cars parking for free in the RHDR Hythe car park rather than pay £10.80 a day in the Military Road car park is a no brainier if you all then pile into a fourth car and drive to Ashford/Canterbury for work. Small wonder the spaces get used up in Hythe.

Roy, we live close to the RHDR and the story, when I queried the parking charges, was that local commuters were parking there, sharing a car to a common destination, returning in the late afternoon, picking up their cars and driving home. This reduced the number of spaces available to customers of RHDR.
How true this is I have no idea but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were the case.

I still plan on going to court and represent myself, if i lose i also plan on not paying, presumably i cant go to prison for such a minor offence.

If offence you mean is simply a minor sppeding offence then you are correct but if the offence to which you refer is the non-payment of a court fine then you most certainly can and under the circumstances you describe probably would.
It's been a while my case but IIRC a finding by the court of "wilful refusal" or "culpable neglect" by the defendant in paying a fine would certainly result in a sentence of imprisonment (initially suspended with a condition of payment), then activated if found in breach of the condition.

Sounds like the OP experienced a very normal appearance in court.
Delays in timings for defendants appearances are regrettable but, at the start of the day, no-one has any idea how long each case will take.

Natwest suggested to me that, after paying the cheque in via their App, you write confirmation of the transaction on the cheque in case you forget and try to pay it in twice.
Mind you cheques are as rare as hen's teeth now so forgetting is unlikely.

The Flame Pit / Re: Boarding / Alighting on a Bus Stop

I'm sure you have looked at the Highway Code 243 where it says that you must not stop at a bus stop.

Others will have chapter and verse regarding signage.

Why not stop on double yellows to drop-off or pick-up passengers, AFAIK that is permitted.

I'm afraid that there are numerous instances online of penalties being issued for stopping at a bus stop to drop off or pick up passengers.

Whether you have actually been caught or not is another matter.
