Private parking tickets / PCN parking fee covering visit duration was not paid in full

Received a PCN for “parking fee covering visit duration was not paid in full “ visiting the cinema and ticket ran out, it’s a pre paid machine. Tried to explain misjudged the time and then in the film so couldn’t leave to place new ticket on the car. £60 fine going up to £100. Help?https://ibb.co/LDtn3QNb
