Hi guys, first time posting. I paid for 4 hrs (only stayed for 1)using MI PERMIT app but it was for the wrong car park around 10 meters from where my car was parked. The sign on entry can’t be seen by driver because it’s on the passenger side on a left hand turn and I parked between signs because the stairs leading out onto main road were right next to my car. I used MI PERMIT app and I saw a P sign right by me so I thought it was good, I paid and me and 2 daughters walked straight out onto main road. Basically I paid wrong person, I complained about signs and sent invoice of payment which they refused. POPLA acknowledged my complaint but dismissed it because there are signs around the car park. I have now received debt collector letters. POPLA posted the companies reply with interesting pictures of where signs are and where I parked but I can’t access these anymore on POPLA site.
I have seen on Facebook that the exact same thing has happened to others and no doubt will happen again. I have photos of POPLA reply, initial letter and debt collector letters but am unsure if needed and cannot add them here apparently.
please ask for further info if needed, any advice would be great.
