I am in court on Tuesday. I am a first time offender. Going through a lot of other personal problems atm which has definitely contributed to this. A series of events from nursing my wife through terminal illness, becoming a single parent to two young girls when we lost her January 2022, Losing my business in March 2024 and the financial fallout of all of that and seasonal depression and financial pressures including kids birthdays just before christmas, expensive car trouble just before christmas etc. I hit a pothole and was trying to change a tyre when the police stopped and breathalised me. I was absolutely distraught that I would have more expense and really not in a good place when the police arrived. I was almost relieved to get into the police van and be taken away from that situation I was having that much of crisis. I am an area manager that has to drive across the whole region. HR dept have said my position will be under regular review and have not ruled out a dismissal if they feel I can't fulfil the role. I also have a second income as a musician having to travel mainly regional but sometimes further. If those things were bad enough we live beyond walking distance to their school and other activities and I don't have anyone else we can rely on.
