On Saturday morning i received a letter through stating i had been flashed on the A316 and was doing 59 in a 50. I regularly use this route and know the camera between Job's diary and Sunbury Cross. I was a bit suprised as have never been caught before .
The letter was offering me the potential chance of a driver’s awareness course which they decide on. I sent off the paperwork on Monday with my details completed and thought nothing more off it.
On Tuesday i came home to two more letters from the police. I opened them to see a further two potential charges ! These were driving on the same road (A316) on the same day for going 46 in a 40. One camera was near Butts Farm and the other the other side on my journey home. All three of these charges relate to driving on the same strech of road on October 8th.The first conviction was approx 9.23am for going 59 in a 50 (average speed ) then 4 minutes later 46 in a 40 (average speed check ) and then at 2.40pm on the way home 46 in a 40 (average speed check )
Naturally i am concerned because this could amount to a huge 9 points on my licence and then only three away from a ban.
I will hold my hands up to doing similar speeds before but three seperate convictions on the same day?
How will the court deal with this?
I did a drivers awareness course in 2021 for going through a closed lane on a Smart motorway so hopefully they will offer me this again as not speeding related.
I have an SP30 from 2019.
I did a drivers awareness course in 2013 for speeding.
Will i have any grounds to contest this or appeal at all ?
9 points would be a killer for me and 3 more would see me potentially lose my job.
If anyone has anything similar and can offer any advice legally or from experience i would be grateful.
