Ok thanks for your reply! Will just pay it then as not worth to risk it, wasn't sure if that counted as defaced.

Hi everyone, I got a parking ticket from a local borough but I noticed the sign of the circle has been coloured in red (so defaced etc) is it worth appealing on the basis of this sign? It's the only one on the road. I did write it on the informal appeal with rejected. Thank you
