Hello
I don't normally post on these as I have successful fought quite a few parking charges over my time - usually winning with POPLA. Find websites like this super helpful but this one has flummoxed me somewhat.
I received a parking charge from everyone's favourite parking company Private Eye for a service station for overstaying an allocated time by 15 mins. Notification received in early November. Obviously I appealed within 14 days - attached a detailed letter, asking the standard questions/providing standard breaches/outlining my appeal (to do with camera positions and lack of cash ticket payment options), asked for POPLA code etc etc
My point is it is now well over 28 days and, although I received a receipt for my appeal, I have heard nothing since. No emails, no letter, no automatic rejection of appeal as expected. So my question is what should my next move be? My understanding is they have 28 days to reply (or 35 not sure which is accurate?) as per British Parking Association code of conduct. But I am half expecting them to do the usual "oh we sent a letter ages ago...prove we didn't". Any thoughts? Follow up with a recorded letter asking for confirmation of charge cancellation/POPLA code? Or just ignore? I just don't want to miss out on a POPLA code if they are going to use those tactics.
Advice gratefully received.
