Speeding and other criminal offences / Re: NIP received after 14 days

Thanks all,

I have verified that this is a lease car through work so not the RK. We have checked with the paperwork we have. It didn't occur to him that he was not the RK!

This has been helpful.

Thanks

Apologies, for the typo on the second date saying 19th September as this would rightly be before the event. The offence was travelling 35 in a 30 zone and it was a camera attached to the traffic lights as previously this was a traffic light camera only but the road has changed from 40 to 30 in recent times. I will check the V5C as the interesting point that the NIP would have to have a manual over-ride to go out over 14 days.

To clarify:
The registered keeper of the car (my partner) received a NIP dated 19 October for an alleged offence on 26 September. The offence was for speeding - exceed 30 mph on restricted road in England - automatic camera device; Speed 35 mph. I was the driver so they provided my details within the 28 day period. I have received a NIP and responded to confirm my details and that I was the driver, within 28 days. All within timescales. As the NIP was originally dated 19 October and this is over the 14 days can I ask for my case to be dealt with in the Magistrates' Court? Do I have a case?

As with the above, I shall check the V5C and look to see if it is leased.
