I received PCN for driving in bus lane at “A13 NEWHAM WAY E6 Westbound”
on Sunday 12 October 2025 at 16:30
When I checked board I found it is totally rubbed and blurred.

This bus lane has not been in use for many years and was due to be taken away because of traffic queues at all times ,it’s been custom and practice to use it when it was defuncted and Lbn put it back in action without any knowledge to the residents or motorist and have captured many ,the sign has been painted for some time now and Newham has not remediated it at all.
This bus lane has already petition to remove it as it is not any use full and blocking traffic. and was not in use or enforced for long.
I send online Informal challenge as below

“The signage at the location was not clear to mention any detail or time of restriction. Board was unreadable and does not explain any relevant detail. It has rubbed out all details. I have attached recent images and video of Board located at alleged lane also google screen of board for alleged lane that shows the obscured sign for last 3 month.”

I received reply as they found total two board and first board that has correct detail display.(attached image to show both board)
and says marking on road and legend ‘Bus Lane’ bus lane on road.
and they rejected cancelling pcn.
I again send Informal challenge as below:

"When you mention there is two bus lane sign is in specified location"
Both signs should not have different details, sign we seen is totally rubbed out and doesn’t give any indication of time of operation or days. It gives indication of cancelled bus lane.
Solid sign and Buse Lane legend on road is there but rubbed out board indicates may be previous bus lane and no more operational bus lane.
Also you said "first sign is clear still driver decided to enter. "When both marking are near same area may driver concentrated on non-clear one as non-clear one is at the point where solid line starts (Image attached)
LEGALLY there should no difference between 2 sign and any sing should very clearly readable, so no contravention happened.

It is illegal to have washed sign board still PCN is not cancelled.
