Yes, that's what happened. There are no markings on the road to say 'buses only' and there are no other signs.
I assumed that buses could park there for free and everyone else has to pay. i paid via RingGo, using the code for the place and there were no warnings - obviously, i'm registered with RingGo as owning a car.

In the Traffic Signs Manual, CHapter 3, there are no examples of this type of sign or what it could mean, and I think a reasonable person would assume that they could park there.

I hope someone can take a look at this one:
i parked in London, on Bedford Way, near Russell Square this weekend.

The parking sign had a blue P, a picture of a bus and instructions of how to pay for parking underneath.
I paid for 2 hours' parking via the Ringo App - £26.50.

When I came back I had a parking ticket.
