Hi. Went to Holiday Inn last week, booked the day before as relative died. Travelled to the area and family hadnt messaged where to meet so I went straight to hotel. Got to hotel at 8.30am, checkin wasnt till 1pm, checkout next day was at 11am. The website said it was £12 parking per night at hotel.Told reception that I was checking in later that day and asked if it was ok if I stay in the hotel cafe until I know where I was going, she said was ok. I went outside to check about paying the £12 parking, the sign said something like hotel guests to pay on arrival £12 per 24 hours. I went back to reception and asked about the parking, said I might be here a few hours, but then will be out for most of day. Asked if I need to pay now for 24 hours, and another £12 tomorrow for 24 hours even though I will only be staying in total about a further 3 hours after the initial 24 hours? Receptionist said they will sort parking when I check in the afternoon. It got to about 11 and my family members get in touch to tell me where to meet, so around 11.20am I leave. I get back to the hotel in the evening and finally checkin. I explain that I already came to hotel in the morning for 3-4 hours and the previous receptionist told me to sort out parking when I check in. They told me it was £12, and the 3-4 hours I stayed in the morning had been 'sorted'.When I checked out the next day, at 11am, I again told receptionist, that I arrived at 8.30am yesterday, it is now 11am, so do I need to pay for 2 days as it is now over 24 hours since I arrived. Again the receptionist just said they have 'sorted parking'. Anyway I have now received a letter from parking eye, I parked on private and from 8.30 am till 11.30am, did not pay, I need to pay £60 with in 14 days or will increase to £100. Please help how I can appeal this?
