Correct I’m a black cab driver. It is my cab. I am the registered keeper. I’m the only one insured to drive it.

I have sent the S172 back via special delivery
With attached letter stating I wasn’t driving in NW1
And added evidence I was elsewhere

Now we will see what they do

Thanks

Not at all

This is the Email I got from uploading evidence on the police portal

Your update, is that your claim that they had to reply within 10 days, which we told you was bollox, somehow quite unexpectedly turned out to be bollox.

As a result of this entirely unexpected turn of events, you have bumped your thread by repeating your earlier question(s) with no regard for the answer you have already been given, and even acknowledged with a "like".

Update

The lady at the police said

Somebody’s looking into the evidence I sent and she has put a note on the system and I don’t have to return the paper as of yet

They are running behind because of the bank holiday

Update

I uploaded evidence. I was not at the location on the portal received an email. They’d be in touch within 10 working days.

10 working days of elapsed, no reply

I tried to phone them Friday because it’s a bank holiday Monday they are closed on Friday

I will ring them first thing in the morning when I wake up, but I have no hope the women on the phone seem to fob you off

Not a very good helpline

If I have no luck tomorrow with the helpline, my plan is to send the paper and all the evidence showing I wasn’t at the location

My dilemma is which box do I take? I was the driver on the occasion I wasn’t the driver on the occasion.

If I wasn’t the driver who was

Trouble is I already filled out part of the back of the letter
Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to use their form.  (But the response is part of a legal process)

Jones v DPP [2004] EWHC 236 (admin)

Thanks for the help

I will update all when I get any new information

It seems you've raised a query about the allegation rather than challenge it. There is no right of challenge to a NIP or a s172 request for driver's details. At this stage the police do not even know who was driving. I think you have been somewhat optimistic.

You have an obligation to respond to the request regardless of any issues you may have with either the NIP or the offence itself.

You can raise a query on the portal

My query is I wasn’t where they said

I still have until 30/08/2025 to return the paper who was driving.

I don’t want to return to early because it states I was driving on that occasion which I believe will incriminate me

The 21st is the ( within 10 working days to reply ) date of the evidence submitted.

Who has got to reply within 10 days? And for what purpose? What happens if they don't reply?

I'm asking all this because I'm puzzled. I've never heard of anybody having to reply within 10 working days to anything and I'm not sure where this fits into your problem.

If you challenge before sending the NIP back they ,the police  will get back to you within 10 working days, before you have to send the NIP back within is 28 days

I challenged the NIP based on I was not where they said but 4 miles away

Not cloned plates, the pics I can see my pink shirt but not me.
There is a video but there not letting me see it.

The 21st is the ( within 10 working days to reply ) date of the evidence submitted.

I believe they haven’t changed the location on the camera prior to setting up somewhere else

Hi, on the 31st of July 2025 I allegedly was caught speeding 25 in a 20 mph zone on the NIP the address is Baker Street London NW1 however as I drive a taxi I was on a Taxi app job of which I have proof I was in Victoria SW1

I have submitted evidence myself. My vehicle was on a taxi job 4 miles away. They have to respond by the 21st of August
I am still within the 28 days to return the NIP

We have passed the 14 days for them to send an amended NIP

What will happen now?

Will they cancel it because of the error on the NIP or will they be pushing to go to court?

Any help appreciated

Thank you

I hope I’ve posted this in the right place
