Hi team, Looking for advice on PCN from Havering this week (34J Driving in bus Lane within the restricted period).
Penalty Notice HG62102538
Location: New Road A1306 | Philip Road RM13
Date: 21/06/2-25 Time 19:17
Date of notice 18/07/2025Web code: 163YP975
On Video car crosses bus lane at very end of lane markings. New Road/Phillips Road has long bus lane. End of the lane is mismatch of markings and traffic lights. Road markings, as pass last set of lights (where PCN issued) have hazard (zig zag) lines that replace the bus lane. After these lights, the zig zag lines turn back into a short section of solid white line. There are no signs to say bus lane or hours of operation apart from a small section of solid white line that ends around 50 meters after traffic lights. There is no notice that a bus lane starts again, but there is an end of bus lane sign, and arrows in the road that draw your attention, demarking ability to turn left (at end of bus lane) or stay ahead.
My car only entered the bus lane fully for very last part of film (maybe less than 20m). I'm wondering if this is a minor demine or invalid due to poor signage. Havering do not allow any discounts if appeal (formally) when PCN delivered to address by post.
I was wondering if worth appealing?
Many thanks
