Thanks b789. Email sent.
No reply received so far relating to either issue. Should I just let it ride and raise it when it gets to court or should I be chasing them be email/phone right now?

Notice of Proposed Allocation to the Small Claims Track received today from CNBC Northampton. It had been delayed by Royal Mail as no postage had been applied to the envelope and I had to pay a penalty fee of £5 to get it delivered. I will now be invoicing them for this amount plus interest payable on a daily rate.
Further the notice is dated 17-September-2025 and I had to have replied by 4 October 2025, Right at this moment I'm on the phone to them trying to speak to a human and have been waiting for 15 minutes to get to position #2. Evenetually spoke with a very uninterested person who told me to return the form as quickly as I can. Appalling service!

I went to check on what speed limits are in force at the location and found that the 30mph LTO was in place. Whilst I don't condone my speed at the location, I still feel agrieved that the primary photo they used as evidence showed a description of 41mph in a 40mph limit and that the place where the CTO operative was supposedly positioned was only 50m inside the new limit, which commenced where the 40mph repeaters were in the GSV mentioned earlier. I have just accepted the offer made but await with interest the CTO comment about the text on their picture.

GSV here.

A GSV from 2021 isn't that useful.

However, if you google 'b4091 hanbury road speed limit'.  There's a lot of info about changing roads from 40mph to 30mph, e.g. This.
That is the main reason why I want to go to the location again, to see if those proposals have been implemented yet.

...yet 50m away from that location is a 40mph repeater sign as well as 40mph commencing signs on the road immediately adjacent to the location...

Are these signs behind where you were detected or in front?

Could you supply a Google Street View of the location?
Can't include google image....

I will be returning to the location on Tuesday to record the specific locations where the 40mph limit begins and ends and the location where the CTO operator was located. More to confirm in my own mind that Google street view is still current regarding the speed limits.

I have received a reply to my query regarding the location of the RPU officer from the CTO concerned, where it was reiterated that I was detected within a 30mph limit, yet 50m away from that location is a 40mph repeater sign as well as 40mph commencing signs on the road immediately adjacent to the location. I therefore feel I have just cause to challenge this alleged speed infringement.

Thanks b789. Email sent.

Can't see how to post a Jpeg attachment for the scan of the last page. It is signed "DCB Legal Ltd"

Further update having sent the defense text above I have now received a letter an copy of the claimant form indicating that they wish to proceed to court. I will file the directions questionaires as and when they arrive and will attend court to fight their claim. The letter received today was dated 02 September 2025, so has taken some 28 days to be processed through their system. Good job I didn't have to reply within a certain time frame, based on that date!

I have just sent an email to the CTO unit requesting an precise location of when the photographs were taken. At the moment, I'm sure that the speed limit is as shown in the primary photo and not as stated on the NIP. If that is the case then I was only 1 mph above that limit. I still have 3 weeks to reply to the NIP which I will do as soon as I get the email reply.
Thanks to those who replied, and comments are taken on board.

I received a NIP from West Mercia Police regarding an alleged speeding incident. The NIP states that the speed was 41mph in 30mph limited area. The photo supplied as evidence quotes 41mph in a 40mph limit. Is this grounds to challenge the NIP and if so how do I go about it?

Thank you b789! As I hadn't seen any other reply as of last evening, I found you had replied to an OP with this same information, which I also followed and sent the email last night. There was one slight change to the defence text as my issue relates to the ticket being issued and not an overstay, so modified para (d) to suit. The court letter is still as received and has now been filed with all the other paperwork relating to this issue.

Thanks again!

Claim form page 1 is below with redactions as suggested.

Thanks for the clarification DWMB2. I took it to be a standard letter issued by HM Courts and Tribunals Service that has a five page claim form attached. I was looking for conformation, or otherwise, that this needs to be completed and as I wish to dispute the claim, that the defence part does need to be completed.
If a scan of the letter/form is needed, presumably personal information needs to be redacted, including the specifcs of the claim?
