#1 Paid for parking with Parking Eye, received fine, appeal rejected

I paid for a parking space at this location in Ambleside - https://maps.app.goo.gl/sXW9pkQVZ2sPfTAK6. Street view doesn't show the pay machine as it wasn't installed at that point.I was not prompted for my registration address. I just pressed the tick button until the time was enough for what I wanted. I then provided payment using my contactless card. The ANPR camera took a photo of my car 3 minutes after the transaction. When I received a fine from Parking Eye, I appealed using a screenshot of the contactless payment - showing the amount, time and location of the payment therefore confirming I was there at that time, and paid for parking. The appeal was rejected, saying that a registration is required. But I do not recall being asked for one, and the machine happily provided me with options to which I confirmed and paid for. They are now saying pay £20 in 14 days, or appeal to POPLA. If I do appeal the £20 is no longer under offer. I 100% paid for the ticket and am unsure why the payment confirmation within a 5 minute period at the same location as the payment machine is evidence enough?
