Received a visit this morning from an unfriendly chap from Marston Recovery attempting to reclaim about £450 on behalf of Bristol City Council. He was looking for a Limited Company which, he claimed, was registered to my address.

Now, my property is clearly a domestic dwelling, not a commercial premises, and certainly not the registered office of a Limited Company.

I contacted Bristol City Council who informed me that, according to their records, a vehicle registered to that Limited Company unlawfully drove through a bus lane. This supposedly took place last summer. They weren't able to give details of the vehicle.

Given that I've now had bailiffs turn up on my doorstep over a debt that is nothing to do with me, any advice on what I should do?

I did a quick check on Companies House, and there was a company with that name registered to a similar address, which was dissolved in 2017.

Now I'm aware that bailiffs can't force entry to a domestic property (unless they're repossessing the property) but I still don't want them turning up at my address again.

Sorry I can't provide further details, that's all I know for the time being.
