Civil penalty charge notices (Councils, TFL and so on) / Re: City of Westminster PCN Code 01o "Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours (blue badge holder)"
« on: June 27, 2025, 05:35:24 pm »It's a controlled parking zone. The yellow line hours should/would be on the CPZ signs as you entered the zones. The hours are likely the same as the hours on the parking bay sign, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 6:30pm. And because it's in Westminster you have no Blue Badge exemption.
That said it's a bit unreasonable not to have repeater signs for the single yellow lines. The zones are in a rabbit warren of streets. How are you supposed to keep track of which zone you are in and it's hours.
But none of that is likely to help.
So fill in the online (informal) representation form on the website. A nice humble and contrite appeal for leniency. Below are some pointers.
I was mortified to find a PCN on my car, I always strive to obey the rules, I made a mistake, I mistakenly believed I could park on a single yellow line by displaying my Blue Badge and clock, there was no intent to evade a parking charge, indeed I did pay the parking charge, I'm terribly sorry, it wouldn't be fair to penalise a disabled motorist over an honest error, first time it's happened, it won't happen again, please use your discretion to cancel the PCN. And so on in that vein.
That's the plan - will update how I get on.
Many thanks to all who took the time to respond
