Subject: PCN Appeal – Blackwall/Silvertown Tunnel Charge

Dear TfL Team,

I recently received a Penalty Charge Notice for using the Blackwall or Silvertown Tunnel (PCN number [insert number]). This came as a complete surprise, as I wasn’t aware the tunnels are now subject to a charge. I didn't notice any signs on the day and would have paid the fee had I realised it was required.

From what I’ve read, this is a new scheme and I understand there may have been a period where warnings were issued instead of fines. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive any such warning and this was my first time using the tunnel since the new charge began.

I’m kindly asking if you’d consider cancelling the PCN on this occasion. I’ve now registered for Auto Pay to make sure I'm covered going forward and to avoid any further issues.

Thank you for the help. I asked for grace as a first offender and added my proof of autopay account and the pcn has been cancelled as of today

Please help
I have received a PCN today from the Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnels Charging authority of £180, £90 if paid within 14 days.

I didn’t see signage that this is now a charging tunnel otherwise I would have definitely paid, I read that this is a new charge that didn't apply before. This is an unfair current as i didn’t see signage at all much like the DART Charge @cp8759
