Hi All

Just wanted to drop a message to say I have just received an email saying the parking charge has been cancelled.

"Thank you for your recent correspondence in relation to parking charge reference xxxxxxxx.
We have investigated the appeal based on the information you have submitted and confirm that in this instance the parking charge has been cancelled.
No further action is required in relation to this parking charge and the matter is now closed"

I must admit I wasn't expecting it to be that easy, but thank you all very much for you help and guidance.

Hi I sent the DRN to the DPO and used the words highlighted. They have come  back and asked for proof of address.

Do I need to provide this? I obviously will do if I need but don’t want to do anything I don’t need to.

Cheers.

Thanks b789

I wasn't intending on telling POPLA about my change of address, I meant that I had told UKPC as part of my appeal to them. I was asking if that enough or do I need to contact them separately?

I must admit I am getting a little more nervous about this but I have now submitted the recommended appeal. I added a further note to the appeal to state change of address as well as having to give my (new) address as part of the appeal form. Do you think this is enough? Or should I make further contact regarding the change of address?

I have now had the following response which I assume is automated. Do I now sit and wait?

One final point, do you think I will need to gather evidence and attend hearings? As much as I hate what these people are doing, I’m just thinking about the cost of mine and all you good people’s time in getting this sorted.

“Thank you for your appeal submission. UKPC confirm receipt of your on-line appeal.

Your charge will be placed on hold whilst under appeal and we will aim to respond to you by formal letter/e-mail to the address supplied within 28 days, should you not receive a response within this time, please contact our information line on 0333 220 1070.

If you have selected a response by e-mail, please check in all mailboxes including spam.

Please do not respond directly to this email as it is automatically generated and you will not receive a reply.

If you have already been issued with a final letter in response to a previous appeal and you are not providing any further evidence to substantiate your case, then please do not expect a response from us.“

Thanks once again for your help, it really is appreciated.

Sorry for all the questions, but one further point which I'm not sure if it muddies the waters at all.....

Shortly before the PCN was issued we moved house and so I received this letter as part of a paid for redirect (expires July 2025). At this moment in time, I have not updated my V5 or driving licence with my new address. My driving licence address is still listed at a family members house where I can easily be contacted so I am not concerned from that side.

Should I tell them my new address (or even just that I have one) as part of my appeal?

Do you think I should update my v5 now?

I don't want to do anything wrong but at the same time I don't want to make life easy for them if I don't have to.

Thanks again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

I know you can never say 100% but has UKPC ever made an example of people and pursued them to the very end, costing everyone a fortune?

I am all for challenging these types of things but do you have an idea of how this will play out? I'm just nervous about things like debt collector visits.

Thanks again.

One last point, I'm not sure where that sign is but it doesn't look to be near the car.

Hi All

Just got a parking charge notice from UKPC as the driver of the car has apparently "Not Parked Correctly within the markings of the bay or space".

I can see from the picture that car does appear to slightly over to one side but as the car is a 2 door and 4 people were on board, it would have been impossible to get out of the passenger side without touching the car in the next bay as the spaces are so small.

Is there any point in challenging this or am I on a hiding to nothing?

Thanks very much for your time.
