Good morning,

I've received a County Court claim form for a parking charge from 2019.

I first was contacted about this after separating from my husband and moving out of the family home. They sent a letter in November 2024 to the family home. I ignored this letter thinking it was a wind up. I then received one in February from DCB Legal to my new address (who knows how, I've not even updated the DVLA yet that I've moved), which I ignored because I didn't think it was valid; referring to an issue from 2019. But after receiving this new letter from the County Court yesterday I am now very concerned as I'll be needing to apply for a mortgage and don't want a CCJ hanging over my head when applying.

I can't remember five years ago. It's possible my husband went to Homebase to buy materials and overstayed. I don't want to lump it on him because I'm trying to keep things agreeable bewteen us. However I feel the original parking charge to be unfair as we would have purchased something from the shop.

Any advice would be appreciated as I can't have a CCJ against my name.

Kind regards,

asassiS
