Civil penalty charge notices (Councils, TFL and so on) / BCP council - 02 Parked or loading/unloading in a restricted street (on Good Friday) - School Lane, Poole

Hello,
On Good Friday, my dad parked on School Lane in Poole here here.
There is a single yellow line with loading dashes on the curb. The restriction sign says "Mon-Fri 8am-6pm".
Usually we park there on Saturdays to go to the football at the nearby school. However, this match was on Good Friday. We both saw the sign and knew that parking there was technically not allowed, but decided to take a chance. The restrictions are in place to stop parents and staff from the school from parking/loading on school days, so we assumed it was unlikely to be enforced on a bank holiday.
We parked at about 14:40 and returned to the car at about 17:00. We had been given a ticket at 15:42.
I understand that the sign doesn't mention bank holidays, so the Monday - Friday restrictions applies the same as on any other Friday. Is there any other reason we could appeal?

Thank you
