Speeding and other criminal offences / Re: Four court dates into one ?

We take a broadly holistic approach to giving advice. This is partly because we have no intention wasting our time trying to answer irrelevant questions, and partly because we try to advise you how best to deal with whatever situation you have found yourself in, rather than provide a narrow answer to potentially irrelevant questions.

Posting unattributed "legal advice" to pad out your actual question is unlikely to win you many friends here. Neither is restating the same question without answering key questions. Or any form of "bumping".

Have you provided the driver's details in respect of all the s. 172 requirements?

What offence(s) have you been charged with?

What offence(s) have you pleaded guilty to?

Yes I have provided the driver details being myself.

I have been charged with s172 failure to provided driver details and speeding times 4.

I have pled guilty to all.

I am now waiting on court dates to explain myself

I didn't fill in the first letters that arrived stating it was me driving
This sounds like you didn't nominate the driver?

...but filled in later letters asking if I pleaded guilty or not and would I like to go to court or not. I said I was the driver and pleaded guilty
To be clear, what offences have you plead guilty to?  If you did not name the driver as originally requested there could be s172 offences (for failing to nominate driver).

If you are facing multiple s172 offences you are in a bit of hole as the circumstances of the speeding might not be relevant.

also I do want to go to court as I have a reason for doing the speed in question.
Can you expand?  There are very few reasons to exceed the limit.

Your correct I am also facing the fact I didn't nominate the driver with the first letters s172 but as I was in hospital I couldn't respond so hoping that is a good enough reason. I have evidence to confirm my hospital stay also

OP, are you using ChatGPT?

No I am not using chat gpt. I just copied a section from Google relevant to my question.

Does anyone know how to get multiple court dates rolled into one court date ?

I couldn't respond as I was in hospital when the letter arrived asking me to nominate the driver. Hence me replying at a later date and pleading guilty.

I received 4 speeding letters all over 100mph within the same hour on the same motorway. I am now expecting 4 court dates as I didn't fill in the first letters that arrived stating it was me driving but filled in later letters asking if I pleaded guilty or not and would I like to go to court or not. I said I was the driver and pleaded guilty, also I do want to go to court as I have a reason for doing the speed in question.

• I read on the Internet that If you are caught speeding multiple times on the same journey, the court will assess whether these are separate incidents or part of the same continuous journey.

• Court's Discretion:

The court has discretion to decide whether to treat the offenses separately or together.

• Factors Considered:

The court will consider the facts of each case, including the time and distance between the offenses, to determine if they are part of the same journey.

My question is how do I get four separate court dates for speeding rolled into one court date as I was on one continuous journey and the time apart from each camera was approximately 10-15minutes on the same stretch of motorway.
