Hi all,

On 05/04/25 I was convinced of doing 56 in a 40. Letter asked for driver details and stateded £100 fine and 3 points for said offence. I sent the letter back admitting to the offence and sent payment along with it. I then received a letter saying in hadn't sent the letter off but they have recived payment which is weird as I sent them in the same letter. The fine then was on 4 points £232 fine because of court costs. They then refunded the original £100 I sent and now want me in court on 04/11/25 along with a letter of a timeline of their understanding of events. Not sure what more to include on here but I hope this summarises my situation enough to get the ball rolling.

Any more info needed ask away I'll try my best to help.

Thanks for reading through!

This is the response i recived this morning,

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your correspondence relating to your Parking Charge.

The Charge was issued and the signage is displayed in compliance with The British Parking Association’s Approved Operator Scheme Code of Practice and all relevant laws and regulations.

Clear signs at the entrance of this site and throughout inform drivers of the need to park at the correct car park, pay and validate on departure, hold a staff permit and/or register blue badges with the site if applicable, and it is not possible to access any part of the premises without passing multiple signs.

In light of this, on this occasion, your representations have been carefully considered and rejected.

We can confirm that we will hold the Charge at the reduced rate of £30.00 for a further 14 days from the date of this correspondence. If no payment is received within this period, and no further appeal to POPLA is made, the Charge will escalate and further costs may be added.

Please find below the payment options:

Hello all. Today I received a parking charge through the post for my vehicle saying it was at Warrington hospital for 1hr24m without paying. The reason I'm trying to look for an appeal is because the driver never actually went into any car park within the hospital. It was being used as a taxi at the time and was on a park and wait job where you drop a passenger off who usually works at the hospital and pick another up. I've been In touch with the taxi operator to see if they have any sort of policy with the hospital and see if the parking charge can be worked around that way. The driver never actually noticed signage that says you're on any private land that requires payment and was just under the impression it was public road. The carparks within the hospital have signage do state the full t&c of parking but since the driver never entered a carpark and only the hospital there's no signage to actually read apart from the one at the entrance that's also in a position that looks like it's relating to the carpark not the road through the hospital.

Please ask if there's any clarification I can make as I'm not the best at wording these out 😀.

Thanks all for your time

While it'd a great result as the ticket was lifted. I'm confused as to why, if they had 'evidence' of a ticket being attached to my windscreen and all the other supporting evidence, they decide to just drop it. Srinks of fraudulent operations. There is a bit at the bottom about pofa laws but you're the experts I'll attach dvlas response

The response from DVLA seems promising:

Thank you for your email of 21st April to the DVLA. Just to let you know I will be investigating this matter with the parking company who requested your details, as soon as these investigations are completed I will respond to your complaint.

This is the response I received from the IPC,

Dear Sir or Madam

Please note, messages sent to this email address will not be responded to.

Appeal:  If you are trying to appeal a parking charge that has been issued to you by a parking operator that is a member of the International Parking Community (IPC), you must first appeal to the parking operator. The details of the appeals process will be detailed on the notice you will have received.

If they reject your appeal they will give you the ability to appeal to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS). Once you have been given that ability then you will only have 28 days to lodge the appeal.

Appeals can be lodged online at www.theias.org  You will need the Parking charge number and the vehicle registration number.

Complaint: If you believe that a member of the IPC has breached the Sector Code of Practice, you are able to submit a complaint. You must first submit your complaint to the parking operator, the details of this process will be detailed on any notice you will have received and will be documented on their website if applicable.

Should you remain dissatisfied with their response, you may escalate your complaint to the IPC via the online portal: portal.theipc.info/login/complaints

Assistance: If you need to enquire about the process of appealing a parking charge then you can visit www.theias.org  where you will find helpful information. If your enquiry is more complicated you will be able to lodge an enquiry by using the contact us tab, registering your details and sending your enquiry through the online portal. www.theias.org/contact-us

If you want to know whether you should have the opportunity to appeal a charge, please check the flowchart at www.theias.org

If you are asking about payments of a parking charge, then we are unable to assist you with this matter. You will need to contact the operator who issued the notice.

If you want to know if an operator is a member of the International Parking Community, please visit https://portal.theipc.info/aos-members

Finally, if your enquiry relates to The private parking sector single Code of Practice, this can be found by using the following link: irp.cdn-website.com/262226a6/files/uploaded/sector_single_Code_of_Practice.pdf

We hope you found this information useful.

Kind Regards

Radio silence from the complaint I made to them. As soon as I get home I'll be going through with taking the further action you have suggested. Thanks again
