“I don’t think it would be safe or realistic to suddenly stop just before entering the road.”

I’m not sure that this argument will work.

What would be your answer be if you were asked what you would do if you saw a cyclist overtaking you on the right just as you were about to turn?

Because they may take the view that if it is safe to stop in those circumstances, then it is safe to stop.

The contravention occurs when you enter a yellow box such that you have to stop due to the presence of stationary vehicles.

I don’t know why you stopped, but the video shows that it doesn’t seem to have been due to the presence of stationary vehicles.

Therefore the contravention did not occur.

The requirement is to send the request for driver’s details to the Registered Keeper within 14 days.

Are you the Registered Keeper?

When you say you weren’t speeding, does this mean that you dispute the 48mph allegation?

Interesting because if we get to see the evidence and she is found not guilty, it may give others some information to use if they find themselves in a similar position.

This could be interesting if we ever get to see the evidence.

Sharron Davies has allegedly been caught speeding in a VSL area on the M4 and is defending the allegation on the basis that the signage was “so poor it was easy to miss.”

“Previous post”? One case, one thread if you alreadty have something here, starting a new thread is confusing.

This is a copy/paste from a Reddit post;

Private parking tickets / Re: Royal Free Hospital - Appeal on ticket
« on: August 07, 2026, 08:05:26 am »
I had a PCN from RFH in almost identical circumstances some time ago.

I called the PALS office at the hospital and they cancelled the notice (they had a person employed specifically to resolve parking issues).

The ANPR camera is situated before you enter the car park, so for a few years the hospital had to employ security guards to prevent drivers passing the camera until there was a space available. I haven’t been there for a while so that may have changed.

An alternative for future reference may be to use the Premier Inn car park nearby.

For your information, according to a recent FOI request;

Quote
During the months of March, April, and May 2026, we received a total of 29,714 representations. Of these, 3,294 were rejected where the recipient stated that they were unaware of the tunnel charging scheme. No representations were accepted on these grounds. All data is correct as of 16 June 2026.

https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-0736-2627

This is due to the multitude of signs on all of the approaches to the tunnels.

It’s in zone PC on that map: Mon-Sun 8:00am-9:30pm

My concern is not that Google Maps directed me that way, but that from my approach I did not notice a clearly visible mandatory blue left-turn sign. I only became aware of the issue after receiving the PCN and reviewing the CCTV.

I meant that Google Maps Street View doesn’t show the sign, but that Apple Maps Lookaround does show the sign. So it appears that the sign exists and that you will need to depend on other avenues to appeal.

I have watched the CCTV video. I can clearly see the “TURN LEFT” road marking, but I cannot identify any visible blue mandatory left-turn sign from my approach. The CCTV stills also don’t appear to show the sign.

Google Maps is out of date, but Apple Maps shows that the mandatory left turn sign exists.

If you want to claim that it isn’t there it might be a good idea to go back and have a look.

The amber light must be lit for 3 seconds +/- 0.25 seconds before the lights turn red. otherwise it is not a prescribed sign. However, I suspect that by "the lights changed suddenly" what you really mean is that you weren't paying proper attention and got caught out.

Plus the 1.4s when the light was red supports this.

How do I ensure I get only a speed awareness course ?

Make sure that you do your speeding in an area where speed awareness courses are offered and available.

There is a loading exemption but it's strict - vehicle must be attended and no alternative.

Does this apply to parking on a footway (if it is a footway) and adjacent to white zig zag lines?
