When I was at school, (a very long time, ago, I hasten to add !), one of our masters, before exams started said, "always read the rubric, and all of the question before starting your answer"
I'm afraid this applies to parking bay signs too. Start at the top and work downwards. People seem to have a blind spot when it comes to signs that only have a symbol on them, like the one pictured by you. It means "No Waiting" between the days and times shown.

Thanks for your reply.  Is that that then, an 'open and shut' case?

Like i said in the original post, 100% the drivers fault, not disputing that. The signs have changed recently, was more parking in auto pilot than anything, than  not being aware of what the signs mean.

The welcome post states to always make a post rather than just paying, so just wanted to double check there were no anomalies or technicalities rather than just paying.

Thanks

Hi Guys
New to this forum, but did post a few time on the old forum before it vanished...

Vehicle in question is a van, driver works as service engineer in Audio Visual and looks after a lot of bars and clubs on Broad street Birmingham.

Adjacent roads to broad street have on street parking, but for maybe the last 2 years, the parking bays, signage and rules change every few weeks.

For example, a set of bays will be find to park one week, and then well be a taxi rank the next week and then loading only the following.  These are regularly accompanied by parking and time noticed on temp a boards (like road works sign boards).

Night in question, driver parked on Gas street just like any other.  Took a quick look at signage, and clocked pay and display until 6pm as usual, but found signage with the pay and display and the free period slighting confusing and in haste, didn't quite take it all in.

Driver returned to vehicle a short time later to find ticket.

Just wondering the validity of ticket and that it is all worded correctly with no technicalities.

100% drivers fault for missing the no parking at the top, but with a quite heavily loaded sign post, and the fact it has changed recently, It must have caught a few others out, as every car down the street had a ticket.

Would appreciate your thoughts before paying.

Thanks
