Hi,
I'm preparing myself for a Penalty Charge Notice, but getting mixed information. I came across this forum and hope that I can put myself at ease for possible outcomes.
The street and sign in question is attached.
There's an opening further down the street that is right outside my kids school, so I used it as a personal drop off point. My only reason for ignoring the sign is stupidity, I saw other cars going down there, not considering they probably live on that street. I totally get why the sign is there, if I lived there I wouldn't want droves of parents dropping off their kids.
On one of the drop offs, my kid was taking a bit long and I clocked a resident spying on me, a sudden wave a guilt hit me and I vouched not to do it again, but that's all too late now. I've spent the last few days thinking I'm in trouble.
I'm more than willing to pay any fine that may come my way, but I'm worried about points. Google AI says three points with a PCN and because it wasn't the first time, there could be more than one PCN. But looking over other peoples run in with this sign, the PCN doesn't mention points. Are points usually given for this offense?
I did scope the street out a couple of times afterwards, looking for ways they could prove I did it. I accept I still did wrong, but what evidence is required? As far I could see, there may have been some ring doorbells, residents own security cameras. The particular house where I saw someone watching, they do have an outside camera that may show myself, maybe they took a picture on their phone, but there doesn't seem to be an official DVLA issued camera present in the area. I understand proof is needed without any doubt the offense was committed. I just want to avoid points.
Thanks
