Civil penalty charge notices (Councils, TFL and so on) / Manchester City Council, code 01 parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours

Hi all,
I have received a penalty charge notice from Manchester City Council for parking in a restricted street during prescribed hours. However the number plate on the PCN that they stuck to my car does not match my actual number plate, it contains a typo. I don't know if the council took photos of my car at the time.
I should also add that searching for the incorrect number plate on the PCN on the DVLA website does not come up with any cars.
What should I do? Can I ignore this? should I appeal? Or should I just pay?
