Thanks for the replies, much appreciated!

To clarify, I received several letters prior to the claim form but ignored them all.  The address etc is the correct one where the car was registered, it has been registered to someone else now but not until September 2023 (5 months after I sold it).  I assumed the buyer would notify DVLA but he didn’t, my mistake.

Very interesting information regarding the liability within the airport grounds - that sounds like it may be the best option for a defence.

I have done the acknowledgement of service now so I have some time to prepare a proper defence and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks again!

I received a county court claim form from MET Parking Services represented by DCB Legal and need some advice how to deal with it.

The situation is I sold the car in question nearly 2 months prior to the alleged parking offence.  The car had no MOT and was unlikely to pass one so I sold it on the understanding it was to be broken for spares.

The mistake I made was giving the buyer the full logbook for the car which obviously he never sent to the DVLA.  I thought nothing of it and wasn’t worried until I got the first letter from MET Parking and realised the car must have been fixed up and was being driven.

I have not responded to any letters etc about this at all so far and they all went in the bin so I have attached the only correspondence I have which is the claim form I received.

Do I have any defence re the car being sold? I have the bank statement showing the buyers payment and gumtree messages arranging to pick it up but I’m guessing this is irrelevant as the car was actually still registered to me at the time?

Any help would be appreciated!
