Private parking tickets / Parked in a supermarket for 28 mins whilst closed

Hi,
I’m new here and after some advice on how best to appeal a private parking ticket from Horizon parking. I parked in a Tesco supermarket for 28 mins on a Sunday evening when the store was closed as I met a family member half way to drop my child back to me.
I did not realise this would result in a parking ticket, or I would have met them somewhere else. I thought about using the defence that the charge of £40 is not proportional to the losses the car park owner or supermarket would receive. In other words, me parking in an empty car park whilst the store was closed would not result in the car park owner or supermarket losing potential income the same as being parked all day when the store is open.
If anyone can think of another valid defence, i would appreciate it.
Thank you
