Hi my apologies for the photos have tried again hopefully more clear this time. You may notice the time stamp on my dash cam doesn't match PCN time, that's because my Dashcam time is GMT +2. The council acknowledge i have submitted evidence the sign was on the floor at the time of parking but have completely ignored my evidence. Unbelievable. I have 2 photos with time stamps 8 hours apart both clearly showing the sign had fallen.

Hi All,

Mrs got a PCN for parking in a suspended bay. Appealed the PCN as there was no clear signage of the bay being suspended. I used my dash cam footage of when she parked clearly showing the sign had fallen on the floor, the parking officer of course lifted the sign of the floor then proceeded to issue a PCN, i don't have dash cam footage of this. I then have another image from my dash cam as well as photos my wife took of the sign again having fallen to the floor when she returned to the vehicle. See council response below and images from my dash cam. I intended to make formal representation and go to adjudication if necessary however i just wanted to check am i missing something here? i honestly thought they would have accepted my appeal. images below.

Well,

got the rejection letter from the council today.

Open to suggestions do you think it's worth going to adjudication or cut my losses and pay £65?

My argument will always be signage could and should be better, approaching this new school street there is one sign under the bridge which you can't see when cars are parked in front of it as well as this sign being too late, its literally 30 yards before the actual school street, the 2 signs in situ in my opinion could be much better simply placing a sign in the location i highlighted in orange above as this is the threshold for entering Birkbeck Road.

i can see the counter argument of you should have stopped at the end of Ruskin Road, observed and understood the signs and then could/should have turned around...

tell me what your thoughts are and in your experience is this one to fight or let go.

thanks.

Just to highlight my point, surely one of these signs need to be angled towards cars approaching from Ruskin Rd or a sign facing Ruskin road highlighted in orange below, As well as the lack of signs in advance of reaching this school st. Exiting signs are highlighted with the red arrows and as you can see approaching from Ruskin Rd it is totally inadequate.

See footage from my dash cam below when i went to revisit the site. Turn your volume down before you open the video, apologies for the racket at the beggining of the video.

Hi Andersen,

The ONLY sign in advance of reaching Birkbeck road is the one after the bridge, in image 2. There are No signs before this one. I turned into Ruskin Rd off the high road and there are no other signs.

If you were to get to Birkbeck Rd and see the sign somehow you can only reverse back out or do a 3 point turn.

Hi the top photo is from the council. The others are mines.

Just for reference i come along Ruskin road and enter Birkbeck Rd which is the school st. You can see the signs are fine if you are travelling along Birkbeck Rd, but when you are turning in from Ruskin Rd as i did you are at a 90 degree angle to the road signs. You can also see in my 4th photo the sign at the base of the pole has clearly fallen off previously and been re attached with some wire.

Attached front of PCN letter unfortunately i'm at work now so can't send a photo of the back of the PCN, i had already taken a photo of the front before.

Hi All,

recently had a PCN come through for a school street, on the day i absolutely did not see any signage and this was a route i used from time to time. I then went back to visit the site after receiving the PCN and the signage is absolutely woeful in my opinion. I will be appealing and am confident i will win. Just after some guidance and help with wording perhaps? see images below.

There is a small sign just on the other side of the bridge which can easily be blocked by cars parked in front of it, the actual school street signs are at a 90 degree angle for the road which i was coming from and the signs on the base of these poles, well one was again blocked by an audi Q5 which you can see in the image from the council camera and the other poles sign is missing on the day i pass through there which you can see from the first image attached above.
