Ok so from the responses it seems that the best option is to accept the 3 points and £100. Is there any defence around the fact that it was a 'manned' camera?

I wonder if anyone can help out. I am posting this on behalf of my son who was 'captured' doing 43 in a 30mph zone. It was one of those country lanes where the speed restriction went from 40 to 30mph. The repercussions for him is severe in that as a young driver, getting three points on his licence brings him to 50% of the way to having his licence revoked. Frustratingly he tried to deal with things himself, but I have managed to gather what I can from his NOIP letters. What is interesting about this is that you either pay or plead your case in a court. There is no offer of a speed awareness course. Is this normal?

Another thing that is unusual is that the site no longer contains the photos of the offence. The url now takes you straight to the payment
