Hi all,

Please see below driver's first ever NIP. Was not actually trying to speed, was just under the assumption it is a 40 road which obviously isn't going to be an acceptable reason.

Is there any argument to challenge the speed limit if so many people are caught out and there is no benefit to road safety? (Seen a lot of cases online for this tunnel) so this restriction must be setup to catch motorists and generate revenue.

Lastly, what is stopping someone from saying the letter arrived after 14 days? A lot of the recipients' post is delivered to the wrong address with a similar door number.

Thanks

NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? - Metropolitan Police

Date of the offence: - November 2023
Date of the NIP: - 8 days after the offence
Date you received the NIP: - 13 days after the offence
Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - Limehouse Link Tunnel nr Hertsmere Rd W/B (Entrance) E14 (9994)
Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes
Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - First
If your are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? -
How many current points do you have? - 0
Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - The driver was approaching the tunnel from the Canary Wharf side where the speed limit was 40 and assumed that limit continued as the road layout does not appear to be a 30 road. Driver was doing 35 in the Speedo but NIP states 36. There are signs before entering the tunnel which can be viewed on Google but these were not observed whilst driving. Additionally, the camera was not noticed as it is not yellow.

Hi,

Thanks for your message

I believe she has offered the discount as it says if I pay within 21 days it is £65, which is how much it was on the original letter.

I will pay up as this was my mistake for not seeing the sign even though I still think there is no reason for it to be a no right turn other than catching out motorists.

Thanks all

Hi,

I finally received an update on this PCN but I believe they've sent it too late?

I made my challenge on 19th July and their email states "Please be advised that the Council have up to 56 days to reply to a formal challenge submitted upon receipt of a Notice to Owner.".

I received the rejection to the challenge on the 6th October.

I've attached the challenge email confirmation and you can find the scan of the rejection letter here: https://1drv.ms/b/s!ApZNM_q_5X8pzi7J4Zc4JoKtGmAB

Since they have replied well after 56 days does that void the PCN?

Thanks in advance

I asked for the discounted amount to be reinstated and paid for the ticket in the end.

Hey cp,

I haven't made representation yet. I was waiting for the response on Pepipoo as I haven't been sure of the process.

Hi cp8759,

Thanks for retrieving this resolution.

Unfortuntately I don't live anywhere near this place to go back and measure the distance >:(

From memory (and a look at GSV) I dont think the sign was within 15 meters of the white lines at the junction.

Is there any way to proceed without measuring myself? Can it be requested for the council to measure it?

Thanks

Hi all,

PCN: HN1345839A
VRN: K42JOT

This is a continuation from my post on Pepipoo:  http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=150053&st=0&p=1784986&#entry1784986

GSV 1 Eton Rd
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ccMKRfYAq6QpiTMr7

You can see the full story in my original post, but the car was parked under the assumption it was a parking zone because of the very confusing signage and being told by the Airbnb owner it was okay to park on the street.

I made an initial appeal before checking on the forum explaining it was just a mistake and I did not see the other side of the sign which has a red line to indicate no parking.

The first appeal was rejected and I was told on Pepipoo to wait for notice to owner and appeal again based on the resolution?

Notice to Owner: https://1drv.ms/b/s!ApZNM_q_5X8pzTxA78vMXbvJCav7

I don't have my original appeal and I'm not sure if it's retrievable?

I'm not sure what the next steps should be and the discounted rate has passed.

Thanks

Hi all.

PCN: WA88495191
VRN: K42JOT

I received the following PCN for turning right in Wandsworth, Putney Bridge Road.

GSV 90 Oakhill Rd
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6ZWEwSvmGVUVyUCT9

PCN letter: https://1drv.ms/b/s!ApZNM_q_5X8pzTQGUs75fNfb60fg

I didn't see the signs however I can see they are present on street view. I was simply following Google Maps directions and I was dropping my colleagues home after a long 12 hour day so I was likely distracted chatting.

I don't even understand why turning right is prohibited here, where is the danger?

Are there any grounds to have this cancelled or should I just pay the discounted rate now?

Thanks.
