Speeding and other criminal offences / Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty

I moved to the UK about 2 years ago and got my full drivers license last year September. I’m always a very cautious driver and I don’t go over the speed limit.
Last month, I was driving on the M4 and passed a variable speed limit of 40. I was driving 54mph. I received a letter earlier in the month to identify the driver. I sent in my details and I’ve just received a £100 fixed penalty and 3 points on my license.
I know I’m at fault so I’m not disputing that.
My question is what are the consequences of the 3 points on my license.
Would my insurance drastically go up. Do I need to inform the insurance immediately the point is added on my license or I need to wait till renewal? (Which is next year March)
I use Admiral. I had a black box installed until 2 days after this incident. I had a nearly perfect score on the result. I don’t speed at all. Just on this one occasion that I exceeded the variable speed limit.
Is there any chance I can get another black box to reduce my insurance premium?
