Wondering if anyone has any good ideas for this one? I would argue that the signage was obscured by a tree from where I parked

And for reference, here's the representation:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to ask that you cancel PCN XXXXXXXXX on discretionary grounds. I did not attempt to evade payment; I had paid for a visitor’s permit at the time and can provide the receipt. Although my car was in a Pay by Phone bay, I genuinely believed the visitor permit would cover me because the same RingGo app is used both for Pay by Phone parking and for residents’/visitors’ sessions in nearby bays. As a new resident on the street, I made an honest effort to pay correctly but was caught out by this confusing overlap.

I now understand that a visitor/resident permit is not valid in a sole Pay by Phone bay and that only a RingGo parking session for that bay is acceptable. I accept this and will be more careful in future, but I hope you will agree that:

- I did pay (albeit for the wrong product type), showing no intent to avoid payment
- This occurred in my first week living on St Peter’s Street, and I have since familiarised myself with the bay signage and rules

Given these mitigating circumstances, I respectfully request you exercise discretion and cancel the PCN.

Thank you for considering this request.

Yours faithfully,
Snow White

Thanks, will let you know how I get on!

I'm thinking of making a formal representation along the lines of:

- I did not try to evade paying for parking, as evidenced by the receipt for the visitor's permit
- It is confusing that the same app is used to pay for parking in a "pay by phone" bay, and also a "residents permit" bay
- I was a new resident to the area

Wondering if this is a pointless endeavour?

You need to put in some work if you want help.

Again you've posted an NTO but this time also a challenge and a rejection.

Tell us what's going on and post the docs as images so we can see them.

I've added a PDF version of my challenge to the folder.

You've posted two NTOs dated 5 Sept for PCNs issued on 26 and 27 June so you have only a few days to make reps or pay.

So what happened when you saw the windscreen PCNs?

I've added their rejection of my uploading of the receipt for visitors permit to the folder.

Hello, again!

I have a PCN from Islington council regarding parking in a suspended bay.

I did not notice the suspended bay sign when I parked, as the bay was over 10 meters away and partially obscured by a large tree.

Any ideas on how to respond would be greatly appreciated.

I have uploaded photos, my initial response (via web form) and their response: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1t4UipRQ1oICRjvBnOV6sStVAGUgfQK0C?usp=sharing

Hello!

I have 2x parking tickets from Islington council. Recently moved to the area and was using visitors permits for a few days before my proper residents permit was approved.

The confusing thing is that visitors permits are issued via the Ringgo app, however you cannot park in a "Pay by Phone" bay. I parked in a "Pay by Phone" bay and received 2x PCNs.

I could not find any previous topic on this matter, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have receipts to show that I had a valid visitors permit at the time of both PCNs, I sent these to Islington via the web form at the time of PCN but they rejected this. The rejection is also in the folder.

Date of issue: 05/09/2025

Unfortunately the video does show the moment of entry into the box, I had to clip the gif fit within the upload limit for this website. Here's a link to the full video:

Hi there,

I got caught out by a yellow box. Not my legal defence, but was stuck behind a skip truck which made the box difficult to judge.

I've been reading up on possible ways around this one and I can see there's a "yellow box extended beyond junction" excuse. Now I would argue, and the video shows, that I was not causing any issue to traffic in the junction, despite being within the box - I was wondering if anyone felt that this might be worth trying in this case?
