I've accepted defeat and paid the £80 fine :'(

I did miss the first sign, yes.

And I was following satnav instructions. But that's not an excuse, is it?

I have reconsidered and am posting the full PCN number, date and vehicle registration because I need some advice please.

I managed to see the images and video on viewmypcn.co.uk, it only showed them after I entered an email address.

PCN:

Council evidence:

There is also a video showing the car turning left. I wasn't able to download that easily.

I got an error from viewmypcn.co.uk at one point, in case that's helpful:

I requested the photo and video evidence from viewmypcn.co.uk, it said it could take up to 24 hours but it's been that long and not appeared yet. Is that common?

Vehicle is photographed appearing to turn left where there is a "no left turn" sign.

Alleged time of the incident is between 13:00 and 14:00 in the afternoon on 24th August.

PCN:

Sorry I've redacted more than the advice says, but I don't want to risk sharing identifiable information.

It's not clear to me why a left turn is not allowed here. If I was faced with this junction and I wanted to turn left, and if it was safe to do so, I would probably have.

I've requested the images and video from viewmypcn.co.uk and will attach them when they become available.

Thanks

Draft appeal (thank you astralite):

I attach a photo of my paid ticket as evidence that I paid my parking fee. As you can see, it was valid at the time of the PCN. The time of the alleged contravention was slightly more than 5 minutes after the start time on the ticket, which is 10:23.

When I returned to the car, I found the parking ticket on the seat. It was very windy that day and it must have blown off the dashboard, where it had been clearly displayed, as I closed the door. I accept that your officer could not have known this and acted accordingly.

I understand that this is a situation where many councils exercise discretion as parking has been paid for and the PCN could be cancelled.

I will exercise more care in the future and secure any ticket onto the dashboard. I hope you will exercise your discretion and cancel the PCN.

Unfortunately the pay and display ticket must have blown onto the seat when I closed the door. It was very windy that day.

Thank you for your reply, and for fixing the links.

I'm not comfortable with putting my car registration and ticket details on a public forum.

It seemed prudent to redact the information, and I couldn't understand any reason for making it visible.

  • Ticket found on windscreen while vehicle parked at Hillingdon Leisure Centre car park.
  • Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fxGLCycvwfXE9uv46
  • I have a valid ticket that covers the stated observed time on the PCN.
The ticket does not appear to be visible in any of the many photos that the council officer took of the vehicle.
